Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Enterprise Integration Architect to define and lead the enterprise integration strategy across cloud and on-prem environments. The role focuses on API-first design, event-driven architecture, and reusable patterns to scale integrations with SaaS platforms, data services, and partner ecosystems.

Responsibilities

Define and maintain the enterprise integration strategy, standards, and governance.
Lead modernization toward reusable, loosely coupled cloud-aligned solutions.
Define standards for ownership, data contracts, schemas, versioning, and security.
Guide architecture reviews, solution designs, POCs, and technology evaluations.
Partner with product, data, security, operations to align with enterprise standards.
Mentor architects and engineers and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
Promote reuse, observability, security, and continuous improvement across the integration ecosystem.
Own and develop strategic and operational goals for integration.
Direct activities with significant impact on results for the area.

Job description

Define and maintain the enterprise integration strategy, reference architectures, standards, reusable patterns, governance, and technology roadmap
Establish decision frameworks for APIs, events, messaging, orchestration, batch processing, file transfer, data synchronization, and hybrid integration
Lead modernization from point-to-point and tightly coupled integrations toward reusable, loosely coupled, cloud-aligned solutions
Define standards for system ownership, service boundaries, data contracts, schemas, versioning, security, interoperability, and lifecycle management
Guide architecture reviews, solution designs, proofs of concept, and technology evaluations for strategic initiatives
Partner with product teams, developers, data teams, infrastructure, security, operations, and vendors to align solutions with enterprise standards
Document architecture decisions, risks, tradeoffs, roadmaps, and implementation guidance
Mentor architects and engineers and communicate recommendations to technical teams, business stakeholders, and technology leadership
Promote reuse, automation, observability, security, platform rationalization, and continuous improvement across the integration ecosystem
Own and develop strategic and operational goals for the area of expertise
Direct activities with significant impact on results for the area
Recommend and implement products, processes, policies, standards, and operating plans
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to employees across the organization
Manage large, complex strategic project initiatives involving large cross-functional teams
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 8–10 years of prior relevant experience
Experience architecting integrations across custom applications, SaaS platforms, COTS products, data platforms, partner ecosystems, cloud services, and on-premises environments
Strong knowledge of API-first design, event-driven architecture, publish/subscribe messaging, asynchronous processing, workflow orchestration, batch and file-based integration, data synchronization, and distributed systems
Ability to select integration patterns based on functional needs, coupling, latency, throughput, consistency, security, recoverability, cost, and operational support requirements
Experience establishing API, event, contract, schema, naming, versioning, security, lifecycle, and reusable-pattern standards
Knowledge of idempotency, retries, exponential backoff, dead-letter handling, poison-message processing, replay, message durability, ordering, error recovery, and high-availability design
Experience defining integration observability through structured logging, correlation identifiers, metrics, alerting, distributed tracing, and operational dashboards
Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, certificate-based authentication, mTLS, encryption, secrets management, and private connectivity
Experience with Azure integration-focused offerings, including Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Data Factory
Experience with general AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT and AI coding assistance tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot
Ability to travel may be required
