Job summary

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) in Aiken, SC seeks an Integration and Process Improvement Lead to drive cross-functional integration and process improvement initiatives with high visibility and impact.

You will lead facilitation of integration, transition, transformation, and continuous improvement activities within the Program Integration and Mission Excellence staff, guiding multiple work streams and ensuring safety and quality in all deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or science with practical experience in operations/maintenance, projects, process improvement, or engineering; or a non-technical degree with practical experience in similar areas; or an Associate’s degree with practical experience; or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
  • Previous leadership role is required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as work stream leader for multiple operational activities and be the primary contact for the work stream.
  • Contribute to scope development and prepare detailed scope documentation.
  • Represent the LW team in status and integration meetings.
  • Ensure staff are assigned to projects based on expertise and communication skills.
  • Follow ISMS work steps and stay current on policies.
  • Ensure work is performed per technical documents and safety standards.
  • Review documents to expedite work prior to approvals.
  • Assist in integrating schedule activities into facility schedules.
  • Participate in setting annual process improvement strategy and objectives.
  • Lead and mentor staff involved in program integration and mission excellence.

Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking an Integration and Process Improvement Lead to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Integration and Process Improvement Lead achieves project and organizational objectives as a lead and team member dedicated to company-wide, cross-functional integration and process improvement initiatives with the highest level of visibility and impact. Leads facilitation of Integration, Transition, Transformation, and Continuous Improvement activities of the Program Integration and Mission Excellence staff.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as work stream leader for multiple operational activities, serving as primary point of contact and liaison for activities within the scope of the work stream. Contact with internal and external customers and frequent interface with other facility groups and departments including mid/upper management.
  • Contributes to the development of overall scope including technical requirements, materials, equipment and resources. Prepares and maintains detailed scope documentation for assigned work stream modifications.
  • Represents the LW team in status, integration, or other meetings.
  • Ensures team professionals are assigned to appropriate projects based on mix of expertise and communication skills.
  • Comprehends and follows ISMS work steps (Scope, Analyze Hazards, Identify Controls, Perform Work, Feedback). Stays current on changing work practices and policies.
  • Ensures that work performed is being done according to technical work documents by appropriate personnel assigned to the work, and according to safety standards.
  • Reviews documents necessary to expedite work prior to submitting for approval including design packages, field implementation packages, operating procedures, interface control documents and associated training as required.
  • Assists in integrating schedule activities into multiple facility schedules (i.e. POW, lock-in and long-range planning).
  • Participates on the leadership team involved in setting the overall annual process improvement strategy and objectives.
  • Ensures pre-event activities and meetings are developed; ensuring/ influencing engagement of process owners and managers. Assign more routine pre-event tasks to less experienced analysts.
  • Assign staff who facilitate major improvement activities demonstrating a high degree of business acumen, intuitiveness to read the audience, and ability to neutrally guide the team in the appropriate manner for the most optimal outcome.US Department of Energy (DOE) and other stakeholders. Periodically interfaces with executive leadership.
  • Provides counsel related to communication strategy and planning, and document management and templates.
  • Provides work leadership for less experienced Program Integration and Mission Excellence staff.
  • May lead determination on how new technology can support business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or science disciplines and practical experience in operations/maintenance, projects, process improvement, or engineering; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a non-technical discipline and practical experience in operations/maintenance, project, process improvement or technical area; or
  • Associate’s degree and practical experience in operations/maintenance, project, process improvement, or technical area; or
  • A high school diploma/GED and practical experience in operations/maintenance, project, process improvement or technical area.
  • Previous role in a leadership position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma
  • US Department of Energy (DOE) complex experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret various electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Conceptual understanding of facility processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of site work control procedures and work practices and procedures for maintenance, operations, construction and project related areas.
  • Knowledge of general or specific safety, environmental, regulatory, safeguards, security, emergency preparedness programs, policies practices and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of schedules and schedule integration including support resources required to accomplish tasks
  • Basic knowledge of Liquid Waste guidelines related to cost, scope, schedule and risk management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Radiological worker trained.
