Savannah River Mission Completion in Aiken, SC is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Design Services group on the Savannah River Site. You will develop electrical designs in accordance with DOE standards and lead technical aspects of multiple project phases.

Responsibilities include creating single-line diagrams, control schematics, equipment sizing, procurement data sheets, and performing design reviews.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.

Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineerto be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

The Electrical Engineer in the Design Services organization implements solutions to engineering challenges to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) project.

Responsibilities

• Develop Single Line Diagrams; Controls Schematics; Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connections, Grounding, and Heat Tracing design
• Perform technical calculations
• Select and size electrical equipment
• Develop electrical equipment procurement requirements, specifications, and data sheets
• Perform vendor drawing reviews, design reviews, and commercial grade dedication (CGD)
• Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities
• Plan and develop conventional engineering and scientific solutions for technical problems or project objectives using SRMC engineering methodologies and requirements
• Provide project engineering and facility engineering support
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to the existing processes
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university with relevant professional engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices to develop appropriate outputs.
• Working knowledge of National Codes and Standardsincluding but not limited to IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA.
• Experience with DCS and PLC interfaces.
• Proficiency with 2D MicroStation v8 CADD.
• Ability to perform walkdowns.
• Experience with ETAP and Arc Flash Hazard analysis.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities.
• Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Pay

USD $85,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $188,000.00/Yr.
