Job summary

defi SOLUTIONS is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to analyze and implement data integration solutions for our automotive loan origination platform. You will work with the Systems Integration team to connect client systems with the Origination System using Azure Cloud Services and AI-assisted development tools.

You will gather requirements, translate vendor API specifications into technical mapping documents, design interfaces, and ensure secure, scalable integrations with OpenAPI/Swagger,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education.
• 5+ years of system-to-system integration experience.
• Strong knowledge of architectures and databases.
• Ability to interpret complex client/vendor integrations.
• Experience with API security (Mutual TLS, OAuth2).
• Familiarity with XML, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger.

About The Role

Analyze and implement data integration solutions for business applications. Individuals will work with the Systems Integration team to help our clients and vendor partners integrate their internal and external systems with the Automotive Loan Origination System. The team uses the latest Microsoft technologies, Azure Cloud Services, and AI-assisted development tools. These individuals will be integrating enterprise applications for the largest lenders in the country.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Interact directly with clients and vendors to gather requirements and understand business needs.


• Translate business requirements and vendor API specifications into technical specifications and data mapping documents.


• Design, develop, and implement technical solutions.


• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, to analyze vendor documentation and requirements and accelerate completion of integration specifications.


• Perform configuration and testing activities for interface connections into Origination systems.


• Analyze and document vendor API contracts (JSON Schema, XSD, OpenAPI/Swagger) for third-party integrations such as RouteOne and DealerTrack.


• Perform configuration and testing activities into Azure Cloud API Management, including configuring API security controls such as IP whitelisting, TLS, OAuth2, and mutual TLS.


• Troubleshoot integration problems, trace root cause through code and data, and recommend appropriate solutions.


• Perform integration system upgrades, implementations and enhancements.


• Interact with internal teams and external clients/vendors regarding integration processes, security requirements, and connectivity setup.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education in a related discipline or 5+ years related work experience requirement


• Prior application or system-to-system integration experience.


• Excellent knowledge of application architectures and databases.


• Ability to investigate and understand complex system to system interactions.


• The ability to interact with external, as well as, internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation.


• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to create and define solutions and present those solutions in a clear and accurate manner to both internal and external clients.


• Strong understanding of messaging system concepts.


• Messaging platform experience is a plus (e.g., Azure APIM, Apigee, TIBCO or MQ Series, etc.)


• Strong understanding of XML, JSON, XSD/JSON Schema, and OpenAPI/Swagger for RESTful and SOAP web services.


• Experience with API security such as Mutual TLS, WS-Security, and OAuth2.


• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.


• Strong working knowledge of Transact-SQL and Microsoft query tools


• Ability to create system level UML sequence diagrams.


• Ability to create mapping documents to translate between client or third-party specifications and internal database fields.


• Excellent, in-depth application knowledge and financial services business acumen.


• An excellent understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction.


• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.


• Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C#, ASP.NET, and .NET is a plus.


• Working knowledge of an API design/testing tool such as Postman, SwaggerHub, or Altova XMLSpy is a plus.


• Knowledge of auto consumer lending and operations preferred.


• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar) to accelerate requirements analysis, schema generation, and code-level review is a plus.
