About the Opportunity
Adoskope is seeking an experienced Communications & Public Relations Consultant to support a prospective commercial airport client at Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas.
This project-based, on-call engagement is ideal for a seasoned communications professional who can navigate high-pressure situations, provide strategic public relations support, and deliver timely, accurate communications during operational disruptions and emergencies.
The selected consultant will collaborate with Adoskope's client engagement team and the Airport's communications personnel to support crisis response, emergency preparedness, media relations, and other authorized public communications initiatives.
The role requires rapid virtual availability, occasional in-person participation, and the flexibility to respond to urgent situations outside traditional business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Join the Airport's designated crisis communications channel virtually within 30 mins of notification.
- Coordinate with the Airport's Public Information Officer, designated emergency response personnel, and Adoskope's account manager to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent communications.
- Develop holding statements, media responses, talking points, passenger advisories, community updates, and other time-sensitive communications using verified information.
- Support the execution of the Airport's established crisis communications plan and follow direction from the designated PIO.
- Assist with communications planning, scenario preparation, incident documentation, and post-event evaluations.
- Provide on-site support during extreme emergencies when required, within the response timeframe established by the client contract.
Public Relations & Stakeholder Communications
- Support media events, community meetings, construction-related announcements, public information initiatives, and other authorized communications assignments.
- Assist with proactive and reactive media relations, including preparing statements, briefing materials, and responses to inquiries.
- Help maintain clear, coordinated messaging across Airport stakeholders, community audiences, and media representatives.
Emergency Preparedness & Operational Coordination
- Participate in required emergency planning exercises, preparedness meetings, and drills, including in-person activities at Clinton National Airport.
- Collaborate with Airport personnel and Adoskope's account team to maintain operational readiness.
- Adhere to all applicable Airport security, access, confidentiality, communications approval, and operational protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional experience in crisis communications, public relations, media relations, public information, or a closely related discipline.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.
- Strong professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to communicate accurately as situations evolve.
- Ability to respond virtually within 30 minutes of receiving a crisis notification.
- Reliable internet connectivity, telephone access, and a dependable system for receiving urgent notifications.
- Availability to attend required in-person exercises, drills, and assignments in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- Ability to meet the contract-established on-site response timeframe during extreme emergencies.
- Strong coordination skills and the ability to work directly with Airport personnel while keeping Adoskope's account manager informed.
- Willingness to comply with applicable Airport security, credentialing, and confidentiality requirements.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with one or more of the following backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply:
- Commercial airport, aviation, or transportation communications.
- Emergency management, public safety, or government public information.
- Crisis response and incident communications.
- Media relations involving high-profile, sensitive, or rapidly developing situations.
- Experience collaborating with Public Information Officers or within structured emergency response environments.
Location & Availability Requirements
- Little Rock-area candidates are strongly preferred due to the potential need for in-person support.
- Qualified candidates based elsewhere may be considered if they can demonstrate reliable virtual response capabilities and practical arrangements for attending required on-site activities.
- This engagement may require availability during evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs and agreed-upon coverage terms.
- We will establish specific on-call schedules, emergency activation procedures, and on-site response expectations before engagement.
