Job description

The Department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA is seeking an experienced researcher to join the Integrated Diagnostics (IDx) Abdominal program as an Assistant or Associate Project Scientist. The position requires an MD and/or PhD degree and demonstrated track record conducting diagnostic imaging research using modalities such as MRI, CT, and PET alone or in combination with radio-genomics, radio-proteomics, radiomics or artificial intelligence. Background knowledge in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging would be useful. The incumbent will oversee efforts to evolve and grow the collection of high-resolution, spatially registered radiological and digital pathology images using 3D-printed patient-specific molds in order to assess validate imaging biomarkers of aggressive cancer against histopathological and molecular ground truth. These efforts will include coordinating investigators and staff across multiple departments and specialties. The incumbent will also be responsible for co-supervising postdoctoral fellows and visiting graduate student researchers on the design, execution, supervision of translational research studies involving multiparametric MRI, multi-phase CT, PET/CT, and PET/MRI. In addition, the incumbent will facilitate multi-modal, multi-scale analyses that leverage integrated data and biospecimens. Applicants should have good communication skills with demonstrated experience contributing to grant submissions and publishing manuscripts in high impact journals.

Responsibilities:
Clinical and research imaging study management and data acquisition, developing and updating protocols and best practices, database maintenance, data analysis, preparation of research manuscripts, preparation of grant proposals, coordination with interdisciplinary team members, presentations at national and international meetings.

This appointment is subject to amendment based on any changes to applicable collective bargaining agreements.
