Under supervision, you will learn to support load management, negotiate margins, and use the company’s tools to optimize service. This internship emphasizes growth, exposure to industry trends, and practical operations knowledge.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing.
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Junior or Senior level preferred.
• This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry.
• Participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain shipment records, monitor freight movement.
• Understand market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support negotiations and margins.
• Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers; communicate service issues to minimize cost and improve execution.
• Learn about tools J.B. Hunt uses to streamline workflows and load management.
