Position Overview

Reports To: Assistant Director/Program Manager

Location: 1117 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11213

Role Summary

The Intake Specialist will coordinate the intake process for individuals and families facing housing crises, assess homelessness risk, communicate program services, schedule appointments, make referrals, and collaborate with staff to ensure effective service delivery. Responsibilities also include data entry, client outreach, conducting home visits, maintaining client files, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Four years of relevant experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Proficiency in a language other than English (e.g., Haitian/Creole, French, Spanish, Russian, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HRA benefits, NYC housing programs, and community resources
Additional Requirements
  • Experience with public benefits and housing programs preferred
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $42,000-$45,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. CAMBA offers comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, paid time off, and holidays.

Work Schedule & Status

Full-time (35 hours/week)
