A behavioral health facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas, seeks a Registered Nurse to oversee patient care and ensure compliance with health standards. Ideal candidates will possess a nursing degree, Arkansas RN licensure, and preferably three years of behavioral health experience. This position emphasizes leadership, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
Springwoods Behavioral Health, an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescent, adult, and specialty program for women. The hospital also offers outpatient treatment. Our six-acre campus is adjacent to a 123-acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, which is held in perpetuity and cannot be developed from its natural state. This provides Springwoods with a peaceful setting for those embarked on the road to recovery.
Position Purpose: The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of patient care according to professional standards of nursing practice in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Utilizes resources in an efficient and economic manner to ensure each resident achieves the highest practicable care in physical, mental, and social well-being.
Performs any and all professional nursing duties as determined by qualifications and training.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Position Reports To: CNO, Nurse Managers and Nursing Supervisor
Position Supervises: Licensed Practice Nurses, Licensed Psychiatric Technician Nurse, Mental Health Technicians, and Certified Nursing Assistant.
Interpersonal Relationships: As a representative of Springwoods Behavioral Health, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct affect on the Facility’s image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork, which is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.
Licenses or Certifications: Current licensure and registration by the Arkansas Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR, Verbal De-escalation, and Handle with Care certifications, or must obtain within 14-days of hire.
Total education, vocational training and experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Three (3) years experience within the behavioral health field preferred or an equivalent combination of related education and experience preferred.
Registered Nurses with less than two (2) years behavioral health experience will follow the ANA Standards of Psychiatric Mental Health-Clinical Nursing Practice, including standards of care based on the nursing process, and standards of professional performance
Experience working with adolescents (ages 8-18), and/or adults (ages 18 plus) preferred.
