Job summary

Summit BHC is seeking an Intake Registered Nurse for Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, TX. The RN will manage admissions, screenings, insurance verification, and assessments to ensure appropriate level of care.

The role collaborates with medical, psychiatric and business office staff to ensure timely admissions and coordinate pre-authorizations while educating patients on medications and treatment plans. Onsite position.

Qualifications

• RN license required (Texas or compact). BSN preferred.
• Experience in mental health admissions or related field is preferred.
• Strong interviewing, assessment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate admissions and initial assessments; document symptoms and needs.
• Coordinate with medical and psychiatric staff for admissions and level of care decisions.
• Support call center duties during high volume; verify insurance and pre-certifications.
