Job summary

The BridgeWay in North Little Rock, AR is seeking a dynamic Intake Manager to oversee admissions and coordination for behavioral health services. You will receive inquiry calls, assess patients for admission, and route referrals while supporting shift leadership.

Reporting to the Director of Intake, you will assign tasks, monitor admissions performance, and ensure smooth operations across the unit. A nursing background with clinical experience in psychiatric care is preferred, with CPR and

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
  • Prior management experience preferred.

The BridgeWay is looking for a dynamic behavioral health professional who is dedicated and passionate about providing quality services and care to our community. Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake Manager assures smooth and orderly admissions into the hospital. Receives incoming admission inquiry calls, assesses patients for admission, and makes appropriate referrals. The Manager also participates in staff evaluation, shift leadership, and provides task assignment and accountability necessary to complete all admissions related duties for their shift.

Qualifications
Education, Experience and Certifications:
  • PREFERRED: REGISTERED NURSE
  • Master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field OR
  • RN license to practice nursing in the state of Arkansas.
  • Current CPR and Handle with Care certifications (offered onsite).
Total Education, Vocational Training, And Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to assess the physical, emotion, and psychological needs of patients.
  • Ability to determine suitability of admission to the hospital based on clinical and financial criteria.
  • Ability to prioritize and assign tasks and hold staff responsible for their completion.
  • Ability to utilize computer generated reports to analyze data and make decisions.
  • Ability to make independent and responsible decisions.
  • Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
  • Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
  • Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies, and insurance companies.
