Job description

At LUX Infusion, we’re reimagining infusion care to be more human, supportive, and connected. Inspired by lux—meaning light— we guide patients, providers, and partners through complex therapies with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

As a clinician-led, U.S.-based organization, we put people first—helping patients feel seen and supported through faster therapy starts, dedicated care coordination, and meaningful collaboration. Our commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and advancement (IDEA) is central to our culture, ensuring every team member feels valued and empowered to make a difference.

We’re looking for an Acute Intake Manager who wants their work to mean something—someone who brings care, accountability, and purpose to how referrals become treatments and how systems become services.

Why This Role Matters

The Acute Intake Manager plays a critical role in delivering a patient‑first infusion experience by ensuring referrals move efficiently, accurately, and compassionately from intake to care delivery.

In this role, you’ll contribute to work that:

  • Ensures patients experience timely, coordinated access to infusion therapy
  • Supports clinicians and referral partners through clarity, responsiveness, and reliability
  • Strengthens the foundation of care delivery through strong reimbursement, documentation, and intake workflows

Every referral represents a real person navigating a complex healthcare moment—and your leadership helps that journey begin with confidence and trust.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee the front‑end referral and admissions process, including benefit verification, prior authorizations, and re‑authorizations, to ensure timely pull‑through to care
  • Manage and develop the Acute Intake / Referral Management team, setting clear metrics, goals, and performance expectations
  • Establish and maintain intake workflows, communication protocols, and documentation standards that support high‑quality, compliant patient records
  • Collaborate closely with Pharmacy Services, Nursing Services, Sales, and executive leadership to ensure seamless end‑to‑end referral outcomes
  • Serve as an escalation point for intake and referral issues, driving resolution with urgency and accountability
  • Monitor SLAs, referral volume trends, and payer performance, proactively adjusting staffing and resources to support growth
  • Support accreditation, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and HIPAA‑compliant practices
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead thoughtful change that benefits patients, providers, and teammates
What You’ll Bring

You may be a great fit if you bring:

  • A deep commitment to the human impact of timely, accurate infusion access
  • 5+ years of experience managing acute infusion or specialty therapy referrals, care coordination, or prescription services
  • 3–5 years of reimbursement, payer, or authorization experience across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans
  • Experience leading and developing teams, setting metrics, and supporting performance improvement
  • Strong knowledge of infusion therapies, intake qualifications, ICD‑10, and referral documentation requirements
  • Clear, confident communication skills with patients, providers, payers, and internal partners
  • Comfort balancing operational detail with strategic thinking in a growing environment
  • High ownership, follow‑through, and accountability in everything you do

Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience). Advanced computer proficiency required (Microsoft Office, Excel, CareTend experience a plus). Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.

You don’t need to check every box—we care just as much about how you lead, support, and show up as what’s on your resume.

Why LUX Infusion

At LUX Infusion, we believe infusion care deserves more light—more warmth, more clarity, and more connection.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Purpose‑driven leadership work with real patient impact
  • Collaborative, supportive teammates who value high standards and empathy
  • The opportunity to grow with an organization building something meaningful

Come help us elevate infusion care—and see what’s possible when leadership, care, and purpose come together.
