Aurora Behavioral Health System in Arizona seeks a Full-Time Intake Counselor to support referrals, assessments, and admissions in a hospital environment. The role involves coordinating with medical teams and insurance pre-certifications to ensure timely patient care.

Applicants must hold a Master's degree in social work or counseling and be licensed in Arizona with relevant certifications. The position requires in-person work with a rotating Saturday schedule and a focus on crisis intervention

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of DSM-5 criteria, community resources, assessment, and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Handle all referrals for services, schedule assessments, and refer patients to community resources.
• Complete level of care assessments for inpatient/outpatient mental health and detox services.
• Admit new patients to the hospital.
• Complete pre-certification with insurance companies to authorize hospitalization.

Our psychiatric facility is licensed to treat adolescents and adults for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency. We are currently looking for a Full-Time Intake Counselor. The available schedule is a rotating schedule requiring every other Saturday.

Job Duties

• Handle all referrals for services, schedule assessments, and/or refer patients to appropriate community resources
• Complete level of care assessments for clients seeking inpatient and outpatient mental health and detox services
• Admit new patients to the hospital
• Complete pre-certification with insurance companies to authorize patients' hospitalization
• Work with nursing, medical, and other disciplines to coordinate care for patients

Requirements

• A master's degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related field is required
• Licensed in the state of Arizona and in good standing (LAC, LPC, LASAC, LISAC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT or LMFT)
• Strong working knowledge of DSM-5 criteria, community resources, assessment, and crisis intervention
• Experience in a behavioral healthcare hospital setting is a plus
• Must be 21 years old
• Able to pass a background check, drug screen, and meet qualifications for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
