Job summary

The BridgeWay is seeking an Intake Coordinator to provide administrative support for the assessment team and manage admissions. You will receive referrals, verify information, and schedule patient assessments, coordinating with nursing and external clinicians.

Key responsibilities include accurate data entry, maintaining patient information in hospital systems, and completing clerical duties to support the admissions process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• At least 1 year experience with insurance verification/billing preferred.
• Excellent professional, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients during intake calls.
• Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate an effective admission process for all patients by receiving referrals, gathering and verifying information, and scheduling assessments.
• Work closely with the Nursing Department and external clinicians to facilitate admissions.
• Input statistical information into hospital systems and perform other clerical duties as needed.

We are currently looking for a dynamic professional to join our team. The Intake Coordinator provide administrative support for the assessment team by assuming the responsibility for the coordination of an effective, efficient admission process for all patients by receiving referrals, gathering and verifying pertinent information, and completing necessary procedures to schedule patients for assessments. This position works closely with the Nursing Department and external clinicians to facilitate the admission process for clinically appropriate patients. The Intake Coordinator also inputs statistical information into appropriate hospital systems and performs other clerical duties as needed to assist the department.

Licenses or Certifications

Current CPR and CPI; offered onsite

Total education, vocational training and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. At least 1 year experience with insurance verification/billing preferred.

• Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of computer input and skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions, multi-task and be detail oriented.
• Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies and insurance companies.
