Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrate group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Licensure is not required but a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC) II or I strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of health care and detoxification process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments at admission, including medical history, substance use, mental health, and social support.
  • Administer the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) to assess suicidal ideation and behavior, ensuring safety.
  • Complete an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client preferences, and treatment goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress, coordinating with medical and mental health professionals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Facilitate group sessions focused on substance abuse education, coping strategies, relapse prevention, and other relevant topics to support clients' recovery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress, treatment planning and discharge planning.

Position Overview: The Intake Clinician plays a pivotal role in the initial assessment and admission process of individuals seeking detoxification and residential treatment services for substance abuse disorders. The primary focus of this role is to conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and administer the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) to determine the appropriate level of care and support needed for each client.

Specific Responsibilities:

Position Requirements
