Job summary

Clarion County in Clarion, PA seeks a Caseworker II – Intake to perform intake assessments for children and families and provide crisis intervention services. You will coordinate referrals, develop service plans, and document all activities in compliance with county policies.

Responsibilities include crisis stabilization, after-hours coverage, court reporting, and travel to client sites. A Bachelor’s degree with social science credits is required; a PA driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Must possess Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Must pass Act 34/PA Child Abuse and FBI clearances prior to employment.
• Ability to conduct intake assessments and provide crisis counseling to stabilize children and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake or assessment interviews to determine immediate needs of children and families.
• Provide crisis counseling to stabilize children and families.
• Provide walk-in, phone, and mobile crisis intervention services.
• Investigate allegations of abuse, assess risk, and make referrals for treatment.
• Develop and implement service plans to prevent further abuse.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records; attend court hearings as needed.
• Prepare required reports and participate in staff trainings as required.
• Travel to homes and community settings to complete investigations and assessments.
