Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 2 years of experience in healthcare insurance verification.
• Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare providers and insurance companies.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients scheduled for services or admissions.
• Contact insurance companies to obtain up-to-date information on policy details and eligibility.
• Accurately document insurance information in the hospital's database.
• Maintain organized and detailed records of verification activities.
• Communicate insurance information to patients, healthcare providers and other hospital staff.
• Collaborate with the authorization department to ensure necessary approvals are obtained.
• Assist in resolving any authorization issues or discrepancies.
• Monitor and follow up on pending insurance verifications.
• Address any issues or delays in obtaining insurance information.
• Ensure that all insurance verification activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and requirements.
• Work closely with the billing and coding teams to support accurate claims processing.

Education
