Job Description
The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office seeks a full-time Insurance Verification Representative to work remotely.
Core Responsibilities
- Complete accounts promptly to support patient satisfaction, referral, and authorization activities prior to service date.
- Verify eligibility and benefits through RTE in UChart, online insurance websites, phone, or other automated services.
- Update insurance information in UChart, ensuring accuracy of subscriber details, policy number, and claims address.
- Complete checklists and document co-payments.
- Create referrals and document benefits, including deductibles, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket details.
- Meet productivity standards and maintain a work queue within 14 days.
- Educate and assist patients and practices within and outside UHealth system regarding insurance matters.
- Coordinate with physicians' offices and health plans to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
- Enter authorization details into UChart and approve referrals for financial clearance.
- Communicate with patients and departments about authorization statuses and issues.
- Participate in process improvements and provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure patients are informed about their financial and authorization status.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Insurance Verification Representative
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year relevant experience
- Computer literacy; EPIC experience a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Teamwork ability
- Ability to handle stress gracefully
Senior Insurance Verification Representative
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in Insurance Verification and Registration
- Computer literacy; EPIC experience a plus
