Job Description

The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office seeks a full-time Insurance Verification Representative to work remotely.

Core Responsibilities

1. Complete accounts promptly to support patient satisfaction, referral, and authorization activities prior to service date.
2. Verify eligibility and benefits through RTE in UChart, online insurance websites, phone, or other automated services.
3. Update insurance information in UChart, ensuring accuracy of subscriber details, policy number, and claims address.
4. Complete checklists and document co-payments.
5. Create referrals and document benefits, including deductibles, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket details.
6. Meet productivity standards and maintain a work queue within 14 days.
7. Educate and assist patients and practices within and outside UHealth system regarding insurance matters.
8. Coordinate with physicians' offices and health plans to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
9. Enter authorization details into UChart and approve referrals for financial clearance.
10. Communicate with patients and departments about authorization statuses and issues.
11. Participate in process improvements and provide excellent customer service.
12. Ensure patients are informed about their financial and authorization status.
13. Collaborate with teams to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Insurance Verification Representative

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year relevant experience
• Computer literacy; EPIC experience a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Teamwork ability
• Ability to handle stress gracefully

Senior Insurance Verification Representative

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years experience in Insurance Verification and Registration
• Computer literacy; EPIC experience a plus
