Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado seeks a Financial Clearance Coordinator to manage high-risk insurance accounts within the Finance department. The role verifies benefits, obtains authorizations and pre-certifications, performs notices of admission, and updates cost estimates prior to outpatient visits or scheduled admissions.

Serves as a liaison between families, providers, and insurers to ensure financial clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• No licenses or certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Verify benefits, finalize estimates, and obtain required prior authorizations or notices of admission.
• Assist in collecting payments before services by using cost-estimate tools.
• Review accounts to trace insurance application and correct eligibility/authorization errors.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure accounts are secured before service date.
• Inform patients about benefits and estimated costs with personalized estimates.
• Verify referrals and payer details, including exclusions.
• Update and maintain insurance coverage information in patient records.
• Resolve insurance information issues promptly and coordinate with families and clinics.
