Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View in Suffolk, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Clerk to join our busy Business Office. You will verify eligibility and benefits, review authorizations, and document demographic data to support a smooth surgical experience for patients.

Under the supervision of the Business Office Manager, you will collaborate with physician offices and payers to secure timely approvals and communicate expected financial responsibility to patients,

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in insurance verification or related revenue cycle roles.
• Knowledge of commercial insurances, Medicare/Medicaid, and workers' compensation.
• Experience using payer portals, clearinghouses, direct payer contact.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ambulatory Surgery Center or medical practice experience preferred.
• Understanding CPT/ICD-10 and authorization requirements.
• HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, co-insurance, and coverage limits for procedures.
• Document patient demographics and insurance information in the practice system.
• Determine authorization and referral requirements for scheduled surgeries.
• Coordinate with physicians and insurers to obtain authorizations before services.
• Inform patients about coverage and expected financial responsibility.
• Review EOBs and payer guidelines to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate payer communications.
• Assist with patient registration and collect required signatures.
• Support collection efforts by identifying patient financial responsibility.
