Job summary

The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking a Reimbursement Insurance Verification Specialist to obtain and verify a client\'s commercial insurance coverage and ensure procedures are covered by an individual\'s insurance. The specialist will enter data accurately and update client benefit information in the billing system, verifying existing information.

The role requires auditing, resolving insurance issues, and communicating with internal and external sources.

Qualifications

• Advanced use of computer systems, software, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of Centricity is a strong plus.
• Understanding insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, TN Care and Private Pay.
• Ability to work in a team or independently, triage priorities, delegate when needed, and analyze/resolve claims issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes designated eligibility reports daily.
• Communicates with Insurance Verification Team Leader on questions or problems related to verification.
• Adheres to policies and procedures for federal and state billing regulations.
• Communicates with billing representatives about insurance issues as they arise.
• Maintains a positive, professional attitude and responds promptly to emails and voicemails.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to identify process improvements.
• Occasionally works overtime as needed by the department.
