Atlantic Health System is seeking an Insurance Mgmt Specialist for Per-Diem shifts (Days 8am-4pm) with weekend coverage in Morristown, NJ. The role focuses on insurance verification, authorization, and department workflow to ensure timely patient services.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, healthcare terminology knowledge, and strong communication skills, with proficiency in EPIC and MS Office. Training in health care and secretarial tasks is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Prefer Associates or Bachelors degree in related field
• Training or experience in health care field, familiar with health care terminology.
• Training or experience with basic secretarial functions/equipment (PC, fax, telephone)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Broad knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation applications; keyboarding skill level at 45wpm.
• Preferred for positions in medical/clinical areas: basic medical and scientific terminology.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between external Insurance Companies and internal staff to meet patient needs.
• Notify internal staff when patient updates are required.
• Communicate with CAC & Clinical Teams to review required financial information with patient.
• Request and review necessary information for ongoing authorizations in a timely manner.
• Verifies patient insurance for all referrals and payers.
• Documents verification information in EPIC for transparency across teams.
• Obtain timely precertification and authorization for initial services when required.
• Document authorization information in Epic for ongoing care and payer reviews.
• Review service requests for completeness and data accuracy.
• Submit clinical documentation for authorization/reauthorization in Epic.
• Manage department coverage during assigned hours and handle EPIC queues.
• Run reports to identify and correct data inaccuracies.
• Support payer changes and retro authorization processes as needed.
• Participate in EVV process per supervisor guidance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
