Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
• At least one year of experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• Accurate typing and data entry skills; superb customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements regarding patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of HPN/SHL, Tricare, and all major insurance portals.

Responsibilities

• Process insurance authorizations and update patient records
• Provide customer service
• Excellent organizational skills
• Verify eligibility benefits
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations in a timely manner
• Data entry of medical records and patient information
• Initiate, process, and complete referrals to Specialists
• Follow up on referrals within 2 business days.
• Process Prior Authorizations in a timely manner.
