Insurance Recovery & Counseling Associate

Location: Washington, DC

A leading global law firm is seeking a 3rd–6th year Associate to join its Insurance Recovery & Counseling practice in Washington, DC. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly specialised policyholder‑side insurance coverage practice handling sophisticated coverage disputes and complex recovery matters.

The role offers significant responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners within a collaborative and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent policyholders in complex insurance coverage litigation and arbitrations
• Analyse and interpret sophisticated insurance policies, endorsements and exclusions
• Advise clients on insurance recovery strategy and coverage issues
• Draft coverage analyses, pleadings and substantive legal memoranda
• Support litigation and arbitration matters across a range of industries
• Work directly with clients on high‑stakes insurance disputes

Who You Are

• 3rd–6th year associate
• Experience representing policyholders in insurance coverage matters
• Background in complex insurance recovery litigation and/or arbitrations
• Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills
• Strong academic credentials
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Collaborative, professional and proactive
• Admitted to the relevant State Bar or eligible for prompt admission
