The contributions you will make:


This role involves marketing and selling livestock insurance products to clients, focusing on large dairies or livestock operations. You will generate new business, build client relationships, and provide tailored risk management solutions, often meeting clients on farms. Collaboration with internal teams and expertise sharing are key aspects of this position.


A typical day:


Livestock Insurance Sales


  • Market livestock insurance products, build relationships, and generate referrals.
  • Collaborate with livestock lending specialists and dairy consultants.
  • Maintain client relationships through regular interactions.
  • Deliver value-added insurance services.
  • Manage prospect files and meet sales goals.
  • Use Salesforce and other tools for daily operations.
  • Complete documentation and ensure coverage meets client needs.
  • Review coverage with clients and monitor claims.
  • Stay current on industry and product knowledge.
  • Participate in professional groups and develop marketing strategies emphasizing strengths.

The skills and experience we prefer:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, agriculture, or related field.
  • Sales experience in insurance or financial services, preferably livestock insurance.
  • Current state insurance license preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of livestock insurance, farm management, and finance.
  • Analytical, negotiation, and sales skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and a valid driver's license.
