Job summary

McGriff Specialty, a division of Marsh Agency, seeks a Marketing Account Executive on the Commercial Lines team to lead and coordinate marketing activities for new and renewal business, serving as the primary consultative contact for clients and supporting Producers in sales efforts.

You will respond to proposals, participate in prospect meetings, and help drive strategy with national leadership while mentoring account service teammates. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Property & casualty license required.
• Experience placing construction insurance programs; market knowledge essential.
• Organizational skills to manage team workload and workflows.
• Leadership ability to guide and develop staff; foster morale.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and market relationships.
• Persuasion and tact for information gathering and market negotiations.
• Discretion and problem-solving for client/proposal issues.
• Proficient with basic computer applications (MS Office).
• Ability to travel as required.

A day in the life.

As our Marketing Account Executive on the Commercial Lines team, you'll lead and coordinate marketing activities on new and renewal business as well as support Producer in sales activities. You'll do this by serving as a consultative point of contact for clients, identifying and understanding client needs, providing recommendations with supporting rationale with limited or no oversight from Producer, demonstrating strong negotiation skills, responding to Request of Proposals, participating in prospect meetings, directing and leading mid-year reviews, working closing with national leadership to drive LOB strategy and initiatives, and leading, mentoring and training other account service team members.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Property and casualty insurance license
• Considerable experience in placing construction specific insurance programs with in-depth knowledge of industry specific markets and coverage terms/conditions
• Organizational skills to plan and prioritize team workload, and to oversee application of workflows and procedures
• Leadership skills necessary to provide direction, praise, constructive feedback, and development to employees in a way that maximizes productivity and team morale
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients, market contacts, and McGriff teammates
• Strong persuasion and tact to obtain information and negotiate with markets
• Discretion and problem-solving skills to analyze client information, proposal competitiveness, etc., and to resolve client, market and employee relations problems
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

• Insurance industry certifications in addition to necessary license
• Significant prior experience leading teams and/or projects
