Job description

Overview

The Chicago office of Kaufman Dolowich, an AV-rated firm designated one of the “Best Companies to Work For” among U.S. law firms by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking an associate with 3 or more years of experience. The candidate would be joining a growing, dynamic firm with more than 200 attorneys nationwide.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial litigation or insurance coverage.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Represent clients in commercial litigation and professional liability litigation.
  2. Analyze insurance policies to identify coverage issues and draft coverage opinions, reservations, and disclaimers.
  3. Represent clients in insurance coverage litigation.
Qualifications

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  1. Experience or interest in insurance coverage, cybersecurity, defense litigation and/or commercial litigation is a plus.
  2. Superior academic credentials from a top-tier accredited law school.
  3. Member in good standing of the Illinois bar. Indiana is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  3. Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products.
  4. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  5. Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

The total annual compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $200,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to base salary, Kaufman Dolowich offers an annual discretionary bonus, performance-based bonus, unlimited PTO, professional and client development, and a full comprehensive benefits package.
