Job summary

Department of Financial Services in Miami seeks a sworn Law Enforcement Investigator II (Sworn Insurance Fraud Detective) for the Criminal Investigations Division. The role requires extensive investigation work, interviews, evidence handling and preparation of prosecutorial reports.

Candidates must have 3+ years of sworn law enforcement experience, an active Florida LE officer certification or eligibility for CJSTC 76, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of sworn law enforcement experience.
• Active Certified Florida Law Enforcement Officer or completed Florida Equivalency of Training (CJSTC 76) eligibility.
• Valid Florida driver’s license by time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct extensive investigations and follow up on leads.
• Interview witnesses, suspects and examine evidence for prosecution.
• Prepare detailed reports and provide testimony in legal proceedings.
• Provide training and guidance to new investigators and support staff.
• Operate safely under AP&P policies and Florida statutes.
