Job description

Responsibilities

Expectations:

  • Follows up with insurance payers to research and resolve unpaid insurance accounts receivable; makes necessary corrections in the practice management system to ensure appropriate reimbursement is received for all FMG providers.
  • Identifies potential trends in denials/reimbursement by payer, denial reason, or coding issue and reports to supervisory staff for escalation.
  • Documents all activities and findings in accordance with policies and procedures; maintains the integrity and confidentiality of medical records.
  • Maintains current knowledge of internal, industry, and government regulations relevant to the role.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with peers and stakeholders.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of insurance follow-up processes, clinic operations, medical insurance, payer contracts, basic medical terminology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of revenue cycle or related experience demonstrating requisite knowledge and abilities.
  • Graduation from a post-high school program in medical billing or related field.
