Job summary

AMS Staffing Inc. in New Orleans, LA seeks an Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal to support 2–3 attorneys in a 100% onsite role.

You will manage discovery, prepare chronologies, and organize medical and biographical records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and timely reporting to attorneys and clients.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or related training.
• 3–5 years of experience as a billable timekeeper in insurance defense litigation or civil litigation.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other industry-standard legal software.

Responsibilities

• Support firm operations with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
• Manage discovery, including drafting responses to interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and other pleadings.
• Conduct investigations and fact development.
• Procure and organize medical, employment, and other biographical records in compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
• Prepare detailed chronologies, summaries, and reports for attorney use and client reporting.
• Schedule and coordinate independent medical examinations and expert document review, including organization and identification of relevant submission materials.
• Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and other support.
