Job summary

Taylor Root seeks an Insurance Defense Attorney in Chesterbrook, PA for a hybrid role. You will manage insurance defense and general liability matters from start to finish, draft filings, conduct depositions, and assist with trials in a collaborative firm.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of defense experience, strong legal writing, and excellent communication. Hybrid schedule: four days in office, one day remote, with supportive legal staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation/defense experience in insurance defense or general liability.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice is required.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities are essential.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload with attention to deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; trial preparation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense and general liability matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions; attend court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure; communicate with clients and carriers.
• Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings; collaborate with team on complex matters.
