Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense and general liability matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure.
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on complex litigation matters.

Insurance Defense Attorney - Chesterbrook, PA - HYBRID

A well-established defense litigation firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing Pennsylvania office. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-exposure litigation matters while receiving mentorship from experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense and general liability matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Attend court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, experts, and opposing counsel
• Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
• Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on complex litigation matters

Requirements:

• 3+ years of litigation/defense experience
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice

• Trial experience or trial preparation experience is a plus
• Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
• Billable Requirement: 1,800 hours annually
• Bonus Structure: Semi-annual billable hour bonuses plus merit-based bonuses
