Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Arizona bar license.
• 2-9 years of civil litigation experience, primarily in insurance defense.
• Prior trial or arbitration experience, including second-chair participation.
• Experience working with insurance carriers and following carrier litigation guidelines.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full docket of insurance defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Handle general liability, automobile liability, professional liability, premises liability, construction defect, and related litigation.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal correspondence.
• Take and defend depositions, including expert and key witness depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, with second-chair trial experience required at a minimum.
• Communicate with insurance carrier clients regarding case strategy, status updates, budgets, and litigation developments.
• Comply with carrier litigation guidelines, billing protocols, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with experts and manage approvals, budgets, and invoicing.
• Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff while contributing to a productive team environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2-9 years of civil litigation experience, primarily in insurance defense, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload while maintaining strong relationships with insurance carrier clients.

Compensation and Work Environment

The annual billing expectation is approximately 1,800 hours. Target compensation is $125,000-$145,000, with additional earning potential tied to individual production.

Remote work may be available, subject to court appearance and other in-person obligations.
