Job summary

Simpson Judge USA in New York City is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Senior Associate to join its NYC team. The role involves working with sophisticated insurance carriers on coverage disputes and related litigation.

You will analyze coverage issues, take depositions, draft motions, manage discovery, attend hearings and participate in trials, with hybrid flexibility and mentorship across a global platform.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of litigation experience.
• Background in insurance coverage and/or insurance litigation.
• Experience taking depositions and handling matters with increasing autonomy.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
• New York Bar admission.
• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters while maintaining high client service.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with sophisticated insurance carrier clients and insureds

Practice Area: Insurance Coverage | Insurance Litigation | Complex Claims

Location: New York City

Experience: 5–7+ years

I’m working with a global litigation firm that is looking to add an experienced Insurance Coverage Senior Associate to its New York team. The practice works closely with domestic and international insurance carriers on sophisticated coverage disputes, complex claims and related litigation.

This isn't a role where you're simply buried in discovery. You'll have the opportunity to:

• Work directly with sophisticated insurance carrier clients and insureds
• Analyze complex coverage and liability issues and develop case strategies
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft substantive motions, pleadings, briefs and coverage-related correspondence
• Handle discovery from strategy through responses and production
• Attend hearings and mediations
