Job summary

Larson Maddox in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced attorney to work closely with Partners on insurance coverage matters and litigation. You will analyze policies, draft coverage opinions, prepare pleadings, and manage discovery.

Qualified candidates hold a JD, Illinois admission in good standing, and at least 4 years of insurance coverage litigation experience, with strong research and writing skills and the ability to handle multiple matters while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to practice law in Illinois and in good standing.
• Minimum of 4 years of insurance coverage litigation experience.
• Strong experience drafting coverage opinions involving CGL, property, and other policies.
• Experience handling both first-party and third-party insurance claims.
• Demonstrated coverage analysis, legal research, and persuasive writing skills.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex insurance coverage issues.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Partners and attorneys on a broad range of insurance coverage matters and litigation.
• Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage issues involving both first-party and third-party claims.
• Draft comprehensive coverage opinions regarding CGL, property, and other policies.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation-related documents.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations regarding coverage disputes and litigation matters.
• Advise clients on insurance coverage issues, policy interpretation, claims handling, and risk exposure.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, coverage assessments, and litigation strategy.
• Draft detailed reports, status updates, and legal analyses for clients and carriers.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and deliver high-quality legal services.
• Handle multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
• Represent clients in coverage-related disputes and contribute to successful case outcomes through strong advocacy and legal analysis.
