Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois.
• 3–7 years of experience in insurance coverage.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, motions, and managing discovery.
• Strong communication skills with a client-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and disclaimers.
• Advise insurers on duty to defend, indemnify, and independent counsel obligations.
• Litigate declaratory judgment actions and coverage disputes in state and federal court.
• Manage discovery, motion practice, and dispositive motions in coverage litigation.
• Handle contribution and recovery actions among carriers.
• Review and revise policy language.
• Assist clients with risk management strategies and coverage resolution planning.
• Coordinate with defense counsel on underlying liability matters to align coverage positions.
