Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Associate with 4-7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join a dynamic insurance practice. The attorney will handle both contentious and non-contentious third-party liability insurance coverage matters, with responsibility for case management, legal analysis, client communications, and litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and assist with third-party liability insurance coverage matters, including both contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Analyze insurance policies, coverage issues, claims, exclusions, and related contractual provisions.
- Handle matters throughout the full litigation lifecycle, from initial case assessment through resolution.
- Prepare and review pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, coverage opinions, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and provide well-supported legal analysis on insurance coverage and liability issues.
- Participate in negotiations, mediations, hearings, depositions, and trial-related activities as appropriate.
- Manage case deadlines, strategy, discovery, and overall matter progression.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, insureds, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Assist with presentations and client-facing activities.
- Travel may be required depending on client and matter needs.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of PQE as an attorney.
- Strong experience with third-party liability insurance coverage matters.
- Experience handling insurance coverage disputes and related litigation.
- Experience managing matters through all phases of litigation.
- Strong advocacy, case-management, legal research, and writing skills.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal professionals.
- Strong client-service and relationship-management abilities.
