Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas is seeking an Insurance Claims Coordinator to support the Risk Management Department by handling claims, litigation, and insurance applications within a hospital setting.

You will process data related to legal and risk management, manage investigations of visitor-related complaints, coordinate with brokers and corporate offices, and assist with month-end accruals and loss run maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Previous experience in insurance or legal claims processing in hospital or related field.

Responsibilities

• Process data related to legal and risk management functions, including contracts.
• Manage investigation and response to visitor-related complaints, serving as Risk Management liaison.
• Manage claims and lawsuits, prepare case summary notebook, facilitate legal discovery and meetings between legal counsel and hospital staff.
• Manage insurance application process, facilitate certificates of insurance when required, and act as liaison with insurance brokers, corporate office, and other external shareholders.
• Facilitate communication for interdepartmental needs and other services as required.
• Manage invoices, reimbursements, and other financial needs as assigned; prepare month end accruals for accounting and maintain claims and loss run.

Summary/Objective

The Insurance Claims Coordinator supports the Risk Management Department through legal and risk management functions, by managing claims and lawsuits, and insurance applications.
