Position Summary

This position supports all clinical practice sites with back-end billing duties, including accurate and timely processing of billing charges, review and follow-up of billing and collections, financial work queues, and reconciling delayed billing charges in a fast-paced Physical Therapy Program. It provides assistance with clinical billing issues using Epic EMR billing and scheduling system.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Verifies accuracy and completeness of daily billing charges, monitors and resolves issues in financial work queues to maximize reimbursement.
  • Performs back-end duties including input, tracking, and verification of therapy billing charges.
  • Reconciles financial billing and claim work queues to eliminate outstanding edits.
  • Assists with accounts receivable issues related to Epic EMR system communications from Physician Billing Service.
  • Responds to insurance and other entity inquiries.
  • Reconciles charge reports and resolves claim edits due to missing patient info or overdue accounts.
  • Answers billing and collection questions.
  • Provides backup for Accounts Receivable duties during peak times, vacations, or illnesses.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, copying, and correspondence.

Required Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or combined education and experience.
