Job summary

Highbar Physical Therapy is seeking an Insurance Benefits Specialist to verify benefits, explain coverage, and respond to inquiries. This role ensures compliance with insurance guidelines to support clean claim processing.

You will gather patient data, coordinate with providers, and assist care teams while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service in a dynamic clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Preference for candidates with medical insurance and authorization knowledge.

The Insurance Benefits Specialist is responsible for verifying insurance benefits, explaining coverage details, and assisting with benefits-related inquiries. The role also includes ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines to support clean claim processing.

What You’ll Do

• Identify and solve complex insurance benefit issues.
• Obtain detailed patient information to accurately submit to the proper insurance carriers.
• Contact health care providers to obtain referrals or additional information as necessary.
• Must maintain strong attention to detail to transpose data and information accurately.
• Guide and assist Patient Care Coordinators through difficult accounts.
• Provide information and assist patients when help is needed by researching benefit coverage.
• Assist other departments as needed, including Billing and Front Office.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED as well as a basic understanding of health insurance benefits.
• Preference will be given to candidates with medical insurance and authorization knowledge.

Compensation Package

• Starting at $20/hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience, skills, and role alignment.
