Job summary

Nebraska Orthopaedic Center, PC in Lincoln, NE is seeking a full-time Patient Accounting - Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our sports medicine and musculoskeletal care teams.

You will follow up on insurance claims, handle appeals, and collaborate with insurers to maximize reimbursement while maintaining patient communication and accurate records. Proficiency with CPT/HCPCS/ ICD-10 and Microsoft Office is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable.
• Health insurance knowledge.
• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on insurance claims to ensure highest reimbursement.
• Perform insurance appeals as needed.
• Collaborate with provider representatives at insurance companies to overcome denial trends.
• Answer patient, clinic and team questions about insurance coverage and claims.
• Communicate trends to the coding staff to increase initial clean claim rate.
• Handle inbound patient calls and take payments as needed.
• Research insurance overpayments as necessary.
