Pain Specialists of America ("PSA") is a Texas-based, multisite comprehensive pain management company with over 15 locations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ASC Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical center billing and collections, specifically with experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) and HST systems. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely follow-up on outstanding insurance and patient balances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily follow-up on outstanding claims to ensure prompt and accurate reimbursement.
  • Identify and resolve claim denials and underpayments through appeals and resubmissions.
  • Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and transfers accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with payers to troubleshoot issues and expedite payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and work A/R aging reports to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Respond to patient inquiries related to billing and insurance in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with front-end staff and coders to correct claim errors and improve workflows.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of account activity within the billing system.
  • Monitor trends in denials or delays to help drive process improvements.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of AR experience in an ASC or surgical billing setting.
  • Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) and HST or comparable billing platforms.
  • Solid understanding of insurance billing, EOBs, ERA processing, and payer policies (including Medicare, BCBS, UHC, Aetna, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
