Job summary

Slone Region at Modern Woodmen of America is hiring an Insurance Agent to join a driven, growth-focused team. You will meet with members to assess needs, recommend coverage, and deliver exceptional service while expanding your client base through networking.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and drive to help clients.
  • Willingness to obtain state insurance license.
  • Able to perform background checks as part of hiring process.

  • Jeremy transitioned to Modern Woodmen after 15 years at AT&T, looking for growth and fulfillment in his career. Now the Regional Director for West Virginia, he’s grateful for the opportunities to lead and grow within the company. His goal is to develop 18 leaders over the next four years, empowering representatives to enhance their lives and make a meaningful impact.
  • Outside of work, Jeremy is a dedicated family man, married for over a decade with four children and a fifth on the way. He enjoys coaching basketball, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family, always quick to credit his wife for working harder than he does!
Taylor Smith, Managing Partner:
  • Taylor joined Modern Woodmen with 10 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industry. As the Managing Partner in Morgantown, West Virginia, she focuses on driving growth and building a strong, purpose‑driven team. She’s passionate about developing people and loves connecting with motivated individuals who want to do meaningful work while growing both personally and professionally.
  • Outside of work, Taylor is a proud mom of three kids under the age of five, which keeps life moving at a fast pace. Together, they stay active and enjoy traveling, attending church, and spending quality time with family and friends.
John Chafin, Managing Director:
  • Been with the organization for 5 years.
  • John was previously working in the coal industry.
  • Outside of work John enjoys spending time with his family, being involved in church, working out, listening to podcasts/finding ways to be better in his career and in life, and he loves being outdoors.
Michael Pennington, Meet District Agent:
  • Been with the organization for 4 years.
  • Prior was a lab technician at ARH.
  • Outside of work Michael loves spending time with his wife and 3 year old. He cherishes attending and preaching at local area churches and giving back to and participating in community events.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Member Consultation: Meet with client members to assess their insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Networking: Build and maintain a network of client members through referrals, networking events, and community engagement.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry changes and enhance sales skills.
  • Target Achievement: Meet or exceed business development goals.
