HomeTown Insurance Professionals (a subsidiary company of HomeTown Credit Union)

Insurance Agent


We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Insurance Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting clients in selecting the appropriate insurance coverage to meet their needs whether it's auto, home, business, life, or health related. This role requires a blend of sales expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to analyze client requirements effectively. As an Insurance Agent, you will play a crucial role in building lasting relationships with clients and contributing to the growth of our agency.


Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Salary: The base salary $50,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience plus commissions.


Location: This position requires working onsite in the Owatonna, MN office with occasional flexibility to work from home.


Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with potential clients to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.
  2. Conduct thorough market research to identify competitive insurance products.
  3. Communicate effectively with clients to explain policy details, coverage options, and benefits.
  4. Negotiate terms and conditions of insurance policies to ensure client satisfaction.
  5. Provide ongoing customer service support, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  6. Analyze client information and recommend appropriate coverage based on individual circumstances.
  7. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions in the sales administration system.
  8. Participate in outside sales activities, including networking events and community outreach programs.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and product offerings to better serve clients.

Skills:

  1. Must have or be able to acquire MN insurance license.
  2. Proven experience in insurance sales or a related field is preferred.
  3. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  4. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms for clients.
  5. Proficiency in customer service practices to enhance client satisfaction.
  6. Ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations based on client needs.
  7. Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse clientele.
  8. Familiarity with outside sales techniques and strategies is advantageous.
  9. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for effective sales administration.
