Responsibilities

• Prepare submission packages for prospective accounts (ACORDs, SOVs, loss runs, questionnaires, property data).

• Submit to wholesale brokers and underwriters, track market status and clearance.
• Track quotes and follow up on responses; maintain the marketing grid.
• Create quote comparison spreadsheets detailing coverage and cost.
• Assemble proposals for senior staff to present to clients.
• Create new accounts and contacts in Applied Epic and transition bound accounts to service team.

Assistant Account Manager, New Business Team

Pathfinder Insurance Group is an independent insurance agency specializing in habitational and multifamily real estate. We place commercial property, general liability, and excess and umbrella coverage for apartment communities nationwide, working with carriers and wholesale brokers in both the admitted and surplus lines (E&S) markets. Our specialization gives our employees expertise that is uncommon in the market and highly valued within it.

We are seeking an Assistant Account Manager to join our new business team. This team develops prospective accounts: preparing submissions, marketing them to carriers, and competing to win the business. The position does not involve managing a book of business, servicing existing accounts, or handling renewals. Its focus is the accurate and timely preparation of submissions and disciplined tracking of carrier responses.

Schedule and Location

This position is based in our San Antonio office at IH-10 and Wurzbach, near the Medical Center. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, in office, during the first year of employment. These hours are set intentionally: training in this role is conducted alongside experienced staff, and consistent overlap with the team is essential to that process. After one year, employees may select either an 8:30am to 5:30pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm schedule and may become eligible for one remote workday per week.

Compensation and Licensing

Compensation ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 annually, based on experience. Candidates who are not yet licensed begin at $40,000 and are required to obtain a Texas Property & Casualty license within 90 days of hire. Course and licensing costs are reimbursed upon successful completion of the examination. Obtaining the license within this timeframe is a condition of the position. This path is well established here. Team members who joined without a license have completed it within 90 days and gone on to build successful careers with us.

Experience

Prior insurance experience is not required. This is an entry level position with training provided. We are seeking a candidate who works with a sense of urgency, is detailed and organized, resourceful in finding answers, and effective as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare submission packages for prospective accounts, including ACORD applications, statements of values (SOVs), loss runs, supplemental questionnaires, and property data
• Obtain outstanding information from prospects and the Senior Marketing Specialist to ensure submissions are complete before release
• Submit accounts to wholesale brokers and carrier underwriters, confirm clearance, and maintain accurate records of market status
• Track incoming quotes, follow up on outstanding responses, and maintain the marketing grid
• Prepare quote comparison spreadsheets detailing coverage, limits, deductibles, and cost
• Assemble proposals for the Senior Marketing Specialist to present to prospective clients
• Create new accounts, opportunities, and contacts in Applied Epic, our agency management system, and transition bound accounts to the service team with complete documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of professional experience in a role requiring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Commercial lines or agency experience is preferred but not required
• Texas Property & Casualty (P&C) license, or commitment to obtain one within 90 days of hire, with course and licensing costs reimbursed upon passing
• A sense of urgency. Submissions move on carrier timelines, and delays cost opportunities
• Detail oriented and organized. Accuracy in property data and loss history directly affects account outcomes
• Resourceful. The ability to locate missing information and resolve open items independently before escalating
• A team player. This position supports a Senior Marketing Specialist and an Associate Account Manager
• Proficiency in Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Applied Epic experience is an advantage but is not expected
• Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent submissions without loss of accuracy
• Availability to work in our IH-10 and Wurzbach office, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
