Job summary

Builders Installed Products is seeking a skilled insulation installer to measure, cut, and install fiberglass insulation in walls, attics, basements, and crawl spaces in the New York area. You will maintain safety protocols, use hand tools and power tools, load materials, and collaborate with the team to complete projects on schedule while meeting codes and company standards.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10 is recommended but not required.
  • Installation experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable using standard hand tools.
  • Able to work in tight spaces, including attics and crawlspaces.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and install fiberglass insulation in walls, attics, basements, crawl spaces, and other structures.
  • Remove old or damaged insulation materials as needed.
  • Prepare work areas by cleaning, sealing, and ensuring proper ventilation.
  • Use hand and power tools to apply insulation materials efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure all work meets building codes, energy efficiency standards, and company quality guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and project completion details.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and handling of insulation materials.
  • Assist with loading/unloading materials and maintaining a clean worksite.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and contractors to complete projects on schedule.

Job description

Rate: $20.00-$35.00 per piece, DOE (Depends on Experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, and install fiberglass insulation in walls, attics, basements, crawl spaces, and other structures.
  • Remove old or damaged insulation materials as needed.

Physical Demands

As an insulation installer, you will face physical demands such as lifting heavy materials, bending and stooping in tight spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolding for high work. You must stretch and reach overhead, handle tools with dexterity, and endure long hours of repetitive movements. The work is often performed in challenging environments, such as extreme temperatures or dusty areas. Installers also need balance and stability in confined or unstable spaces and may experience strain from pushing and pulling heavy loads or performing repetitive tasks.
