Job summary

Independence Village of Fishers South is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide with an insulin certification. The successful candidate will administer medications, verify resident identity, and follow infection control procedures in a senior living setting located in Fishers, IN.

Responsibilities include documenting medication events, maintaining stock and safety, and supporting admissions, transfers, and daily resident care tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Insulin certification required.
• Licensed Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) status required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medication and treatments as ordered by physician according to policy and procedures.
• Verify resident identity before medication or treatment.
• Follow hand hygiene policy and infection control standards.
• Order medications, supplies, and equipment as needed per policy.
• Remove expired medications from cart and resident areas as required.
• Maintain accurate medication records for each shift and ensure keys are accounted for.
• Review medication sheets for completeness and accuracy.
• Document important events in the 24-hour report and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of residents as requested.
• Notify nurse in charge of changes in resident condition or treatment refusal.
