Job summary

Delta Constructors, LLC in Watford City, ND is seeking an experienced Insulator Journeyman to guide, train, and lead Insulator Helpers on industrial insulation projects. You will read blueprints and specifications and apply insulation techniques to a wide range of materials in mechanical, commercial, and cryogenic settings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman level hours and experience (typically 5 years).
• Valid driver's license with clean record, depending on location.
• OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates, or ability to obtain on hire.
• Insulation specific tools required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and train Insulator Helpers.
• Read blueprints and sketches.
• Measure, cut and fit insulation materials.
• Finish insulation using sealants and tapes.
• Attend required training sessions and safety classes.

Job description

Brief Description:

The Insulator Journeyman is responsible for guiding, training, and leading Insulator Helpers. The incumbent performs insulation work with mechanical, industrial, commercial and/or cryogenics working from blueprints and specifications with a wide variety of materials while applying appropriate insulation techniques based on the standards or needs of the project.

4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF

• 60 hours per week (opportunity for more)
• 36 weeks ON and 17 weeks OFF (22% MORE TIME OFF!)

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead, guide and train Insulator Helpers
• Understand blueprints, sketches
• Measure, shape and cut materials to specified measurements
• Insulate, cover, wrap, staple, glue, fit insulating materials
• Finish insulation using sealants, tape, cement and metals
• Attends training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes required by department
• Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or Equivalent
• Journeyman level hours and experience (typically 5 years)
• Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record required depending on location
• Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire
• Must have insulation specific tools

• Advanced knowledge of Insulation process and methods
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the different type of tools involved in insulation
• Knowledge of design, principles and technical plans such as blueprints and drawings
• Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment use and operation
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to use time efficiently in order to complete projects/assignments on time
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
• Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations
