Job Description

• Apply insulating materials and surface claddings and coating to pipes, vessels, tanks, ductwork and associated equipment.
• Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
• Determine the amount, types and method of insulation needed.
• Fit and shape insulating materials.
• Measure and cut insulation using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors.
• Use tools to install insulation such as pin snips, cutting shears, knives, channel locks, etc.
• Read blueprints and specifics to determine job specifications.
• Prepare surfaces for insulation application.
• Load and unload materials.
• Stage materials in proper site areas.
• Observe and comply with all safety process and procedures.
• On-the-job training offered. This position is safety‑sensitive.
