Job summary

Eastern Controls, Inc. is seeking an Instrument Technician- MSA Safety Specialist to support gas detection and instrumentation across client sites. The role emphasizes hands-on calibration, testing, repairs, and ensuring safety and reliability of industrial processes.

You will travel to varied sites after training, work with engineers, technicians, and production personnel, and maintain equipment according to manufacturer specifications while upholding our commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1-5 years hands-on technical experience; gas detection instrumentation is a big plus.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; able to use hand tools and electronic testing equipment; safety-focused.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic actuators and pneumatics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service gas detection instruments according to manufacturer specifications.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot instruments at client sites.
• Perform repairs and adjustments; travel to varied customer sites after training.
• Ensure safety and reliability of industrial processes.

This crucial role ensures the reliability, accuracy, and safety of industrial processes by maintaining and servicing gas detection instruments based on the manufacturer’s specifications.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in technical field preferred.

Experience: 1-5 years’ experience in a hands-on technical application. Experience as an electromechanical field tech doing calibration and repairs preferred. Gas detection instrumentation experience is a big plus. You should be able to demonstrate basic electrical and mechanical knowledge, use of hand tools and electronic testing equipment, and a strong attention to safety and detail. Applicants with any knowledge of electrical and hydraulic actuators and familiarity with pneumatics is a strong plus.

Certifications:

• Must be able to obtain certifications in all required ECI and Principal programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC and PSM credentials.
• Forklift, Scissors, lift, and confined spaces certification may also be required.
• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
